I just looked back on my blogs and realized I never posted my 19 and 6 blog. Why? I guess I was trying to convince myself that I was going to be able to catch up. I am silly, I know. Is life really about catching up? Making checks off the list? I am going to continue to do what I can. Blogging, pictures, capturing memories. The little things. All though the list remains long.
Tomorrow Ziah turns 10 months. 10 months! I won't say that "it goes so fast...blah, blah, blah." I hate hearing it too. I know it goes fast. But, I am going to do everything I can to enjoy the moment, to enjoy the little things, to sit and stare at her tootsies which now hang out of her hammock as she sleeps. I am trying my hardest to enjoy each and every phase and stage that they are in. And, yes there are times when I am thankful that it goes fast and that we move on from the phase that we are in. But, there are many times that I wish time would just pause. But, I can't make that happen. So I will take deep breaths, pause myself, be thankful and grateful, and try my hardest to capture these simple little moments. I often ask, "how did I get so blessed?" and every night, I say a little Thank you to the man of above for making me feel like the luckiest Mama in the world.
Pretty sure this is 9 months.
So 10 months, pretty sure I missed 8 and 9 month update. Such is life. She is a true Joy. She is crawling, pulls her self up. Loves to laugh at her brother and sister and is now starting to chase after them with her fast crawl. She is the best eater in the house. Sleeps good when she doesn't have a ear infection (we will chat about that later), loves to play outside, loves the sand box, and is fully convinced that she will catch up to her brother and sister and be as big as them real soon. She wants so bad to be big.I keep telling her to take her time but, I think she is laughing when I say that. She is a little chunk.
Ears...I hate ear infections. I hate antibiotics even more. Back in March Ziah got a ear infection for the first time. Since then they have not been able to clear it, not clear it as in 8 freakin rounds of antibiotics. Andy himself had tubes when he was little so some of it is hereditary. But, for Ziah they say it was more that she had one really bad ear infection that she/meds was unable to clear. I pretty much slept on the couch with her from March until she got tubes. It was a long, tiring process. The only thing that help during this time were she actually slept through the night in her crib was the 3 times I took her to the chiropractor. Which was right before she got tube. So the ear tubes are done. The process went fair. She did great. Lets just say there is something to be said for big hospitals. (which was a big reason we consider a move to SLC). I am not sure that she is 100% yet, I am praying that her ears are clear and that the tubes are working. And I have to give a big huge shout out to our babysitter who came to the house at 6am to watch the twins after getting back from a rodeo and 1:30 am. She is amazing.
One of my Favorites. Taken this June.
Zoe and Zayne! Where do I even begin. They are 23 months. Next month they are 2! In less than a month they are 2. There is always so much emotion tied to their story and to this journey that we are on with them. 2 years! Look where we have come in 2 years, how far we have come in 2 years! Most of the doctors who said Zayne wouldn't make it, surely wouldn't be able to keep up with him today, They are amazing and they have a story to tell. I am sure in their minds they are screaming it out but only time will tell where this story and journey is going to take them. Speaking of screaming out. The two don't talk much. It is definitely a preemie/twin thing. But, have no worry... The two love to babble and tell each other stories, talk about Mom and Dad, and plan their next shenanigans, all in their own language. Anyone who doesn't think twins have their own language or think it is just babbling, I invite you over, we will prove you wrong once again.
Constant entertainment.
Zayne remains fearless. He is all boy, although lately it's a game of I wear Zoe's clothes and she wears mine. And if Zoe gets a pony in Zayne is sure to rock a man-bun, the only difference is Zayne leaves his in. You know he is fearless, above average in the "all-boy" area, when every one you meet says something about him and his abilities to do whatever it is that Zayne is doing or when you are at the park and he is climbing up the ladder and you are watching him and another Mom and a teacher at the playground run over to get him down. As you tell them he is fine, they say "when mine where this age they never did this and I would never allow them too." Well, I can't stop him. Zayne does say "Hi" and "uh-oh." It's the cutest when you have been gone and you walk in the house and hear this little voice say "HI."
The two have very strong personalities. Very independent. They know what they want and they are determined. Which is why they are here today.
She provides us with lots of humor.
Miss Zoe, Miss dramatic. Also miss determined. It is her way. (I believe that goes for both of them). But, she is also the sweetest. She is such a helper. She loves to have a task (through this away, etc. They both do). She is starting to enjoy and have a say in what she wears, as in "I will wear my brothers clothes." In fact she has gotten pretty good at dressing herself, and once she gets her clothes on there is no arguing. She loves to play and laugh with Ziah (mainly at night when the two should be going to bed). If her and Zayne are getting into trouble they are getting along, otherwise they fight. She loves to snuggle. Gives Eskimo kisses.
They both love playing in their backyard. They love water. They love to dance in the morning. Zayne has got some pretty good white-boy moves.
So, That's my quick little update. So much has happened (as always since the last blog). Some require post of their own. But here are a few things (remember it's never a dull moment): Zayne swallowed a penny but not only swallowed it but was choking and had to have the penny removed in the OR (May 21, 2016), Ziah got her first tooth and her 2nd tooth (May 30, 2016), Zayne got to come off of oxygen for good on May 25 (See our caringbrindge site for this although I hope to make a post about this.) We went to Salt Lake City over Memorial Weekend (2 Year Anniversary) we visited with friends and did some house hunting. My Dad and Grandma came to visit in June, My Mom came to visit. We went to our baby sitter Maddie's house and the kids got to see all the farm animals and feed the baby calves by bottle, and the calves sucked on their fingers, Zoe also sat on one of the horses. Zayne had a eye appointment that had great results, and we have also been working with a GI Doctor to help with him and eating. Oh, and we bought a house. More to come :)
Oh and my dilemma's... The kids have broken two of my camera lenses, it's my fault for leaving my stuff lay around. Next it's phone camera vs DSL, I would always use my good camera if it had Wifi, but it doesn't so... that means spending more money. And then the battle of the computer. Good grief. Will take some suggestions.
